Need an introduction for an efficient wife?

I was just checking my google analytics and found that someone searched for an "introduction to an efficient wife" and reached my blog from that search. Although I long to be an efficient wife and I wish had a great story for your introduction to an efficient wife.. sorry mister.. you won't find that here.

What you will find... pathetic titles posed as questions... lots of stories and pictures about my little girl, Kate (sorry, I can't help it) recipes and other random things like this post.

Maybe that does make me an efficient wife... I can cram all that stuff into this little blog. My new goal along with being an excellent wife (Prov. 31), I am adding an efficient wife. Now that I think about it.. the Proverbs 31 wife was efficient... I have a lot to work on!

Why does life get so hectic?

For the past few weeks, our life has been crazy. My husband and I have had something going on every night for the past two weeks. Last Monday we took our first trip to the emergency room with Kate. She fell at church and we didn't see her fall. She started throwing up a couple hours later and the doctor was concerned that she hit her head. He wanted us to take her in to get a catscan. We spent four hours in the ER and they didn't want to give her a catscan and sent us home. Thank goodness it just ended up being a stomach virus that was going around. She is fine, but that was only the beginning to our crazy couple of weeks.

Our church hosted a Beth Moore simulcast and I was on the team. We had a "dream team" of women working together. I have never been apart of a group who worked together so well. We did run into a few bumps in the road, but the Lord was so faithful and everything turned out wonderfully! Here is that awesome team of women.

Beth talked from Psalm 37 - "Coming Home to Heart of Your Desires". (I feel a little weird calling her Beth.. I am talking as if I know her personally, which I don't.. but I didn't want to say Beth Moore or Mrs. Moore, so I settled for "Beth".) Anyway, I had heard that passage preached several times, but she did bring a freshness to it for me. For those of you who missed it... the message will be available on her website in the next few weeks at Living Proof.

After a hectic week last week and knowing that life wasn't slowing down with Justin's schedule, I decided to re-focus and read through Romans and read the book, Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist by John Piper. I wanted to share an excerpt that he wrote.. I love how God works. This totally goes along with what Beth was talking about this weekend (the desires of our hearts) He wrote a poem to his wife on their 25th wedding anniversary on what it is to be a Christian Hedonist. The poem is really long, so I won't post it all (click here to read it in its entirety), but I loved this excerpt...

Call this whatever name you may, It is the truth.
Shall God display His great all-satisfying grace Italic
In joyless souls? And shall he trace
The outlines of his majesty
In hearts that neither taste nor see
Enough in him to comprehend
That here their quest is at an end?
No, God has made another way
To put his glory on display.

His goodness shines with brightest rays
When we delight in all his ways.
His glory overflows its rim
When we are satisfied in him.
His radiance will fill the earth
When people revel in his worth.
The beauty of God's holy fire
Burns brightest in the heart's desire.

Don't you just love that? Oh, how I want to "Delight my ways in the Lord".. and "He will give me the desires of my heart." (Psalm 37:4) I have a long way to go.. I want my desires to match up with God's desires.

I have no idea why life gets so hectic at times, but remember to stop and think about your purpose on this earth and why God put you here.. one more time...

His goodness shines with brightest rays
When we delight in all his ways.
His glory overflows its rim
When we are satisfied in him.
His radiance will fill the earth
When people revel in his worth.
The beauty of God's holy fire
Burns brightest in the heart's desire.

Can I get a roo, roo, roo? Randomness & Freebie Friday

Ok, so the title is weak- sorry... I had to do little throw back to Arsenio Hall. Although the title may appear to be a throw back to Scooby Doo.. it was Arsenio I was aiming at. I watched VH1's 100 greatest songs of the 80's the other day and wow did that bring back some memories. It also made me want to increase my 80's playlist on my IPod. I forgot about some great songs. I didn't agree with their #1 - Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer". I know it was a big hit, but does anything get better than "Walk this Way" by Run-D.M.C.? Seriously, I still love that song.

I haven't really posted anything new because of my lack of things to write about (as you saw from my introduction). I was telling Justin last night, that I needed something to write about and he proceeded to tell me all kinds of things I could write about.. most of them being the exciting daily chores I do.. which is of course BORING!! I wish I could tell you about our fabulous shopping trip to Nordstrom during the tax free weekend, but that of course was in my dreams.. and instead my tax free shopping included a trip to Khol's with my mom, which was semi-fabulous. Oh, and I wish I could write about our relaxing vacation to the Atlantis, but that is again.. only in my dreams.

Here is a breakdown of our week.. and what we have been up to (for those of you who care).

My mom came in town last weekend and we did what we normally do.. SHOP!! I get my love of shopping from her. I also love to shop with her because I actually get to buy things.. well, technically she buys them for me and Kate. We also went to see Julie and Julia. It was so cute! I highly recommend it, especially if you love to cook and blog (i.e.-Lea).

My mom mainly came in town to see Kate.. who is growing up by the second. I seriously want to make it stop, but not really.. she is getting to be so much fun and a handful!! My mom seriously spoiled her. Here they are together...
Last but not least, as if I could throw one more random thing in this post.. our new permanent Giveaway's site is up (Chic Giveaways)and so cute. Sweet Cheeky Designs did the design and did a wonderful job. She is awesome at blog design!! Check it out. Every Friday, I'll post what we are giving away over at http://www.chicgiveaways.com/. This week we are giving away a set of Monogrammed Car Mats valued at $75. You have until Sunday to enter and a new giveaway will be posted each Monday. We have some awesome things coming!!
Happy Friday!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Why haven't you updated your blog?

My mom called me last week and asked.. Why haven't you updated your blog? I told her to tune in this week, I have plenty of stories from last week. If she would have seen my house and if she knows how slow I am at writing blogs.. she would have said.. you need to take a break and get your house in order. So much happened last week.. I will get you caught up now.

Kate threw her first real fit.. yes, that was NOT fun! Oh, and she says "Toby" all the time and loves him.. I wish I could say that he feels the same way, but he is a little fickle.. he usually acts like he likes her, jumps up on her, licks her, etc. Then last Tuesday she tried to take back her socks he stole and...I think demons came out of him and he bit her hand. She is fine (he is so small, so no real damage done). I think they are back to loving each other now. Justin on the other hand... says he is moving to FL. We will see.

I got caught up on laundry/cleaning, mowed the lawn (the first time ever.. and will save the story for another post) and re-did two rooms. Ok, let me be honest, I didn't even do those things last week (I have done all those things the past two days.. since Justin has been out of town). For some reason I get so motivated when he is gone. I really have no idea why... my only excuse is he is so much fun when he is home.. I just want to hang out with him... therefore, my chores do not get done. Oh wait, that doesn't exactly work... because is his not here all day, only the evenings.

Last Monday we had just woken up. I was getting Kate up and ready for breakfast. Justin was taking Toby out and watering the plants. (This is our normal and exciting daily morning routine). All of a sudden Justin ran in the house and yelled, NICOLE... there are ANIMALS {ok, I want to pause right here.. because in that second I was picturing rats, mice, raccoons and snakes in our attic or garage.} He said, "there are animals... eating our new plants." For those of you who missed it, we just had new landscaping put in (Here is the post.) Last Monday it had been one week.

You know I love before and after photos.. so here you go, did I mention it has only been two weeks since we planted these plants?

Before Deer:

After Deer (the circles show the now DEAD plants):

You have no idea the lengths that Justin has taken to keep the deer away.. I won't go into detail of all his secrets.. but it has included liquid fence, eggs, garlic, pepper, hair and urine. I will have to say that I think it is working (I hope). Also.. I am calling the landscapers today.. hoping they will replace the plants!

Other things we have been up to.. graduation parties, and going to the pool. Here are a couple pictures of our baby girl.. she is growing up so fast!
Here is Kate at Tiffany's graduation party. She took every lei out of the basket and put it on her.

Kate this morning.. I took it with her new favorite toy. She loves the little bunny purse my friend Laine got her. She carries it everywhere.

Now back to cleaning and getting ready for VBS tonight. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Want a free Doughnut? Freebie Friday

Did you know that today is National Free Donut day? Seriously, who comes up with these "holidays"? Anyway, Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts are both giving away free donuts today. Are they completely trying to sabotage my 30 day shred? Krispy Kreme is giving away one free donut per customer (no purchase required) and Dunkin Donuts is giving away one free donut with purchase of a drink.

In case you were wondering...

Why is National Donut Day celebrated on the first Friday in June? In 1917, Salvation Army female volunteers known as “lassies” prepared thousands of fresh donuts to the homesick soldiers that served in France during World War I. National Donut Day was officially established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to raise much-needed funds during the Great Depression.

Donut Facts:
-In the U.S. alone, more than 10 billion donuts are made every year.
-The largest donut ever made was an American-style jelly donut weighing 1.7 tons, which was 16 feet in diameter and 16 inches high in the center.
-Per capita, Canada has more donut shops than any other country.
-The hole in the donut's center appeared in the first half of the 19th Century.
-Adolph Levitt invented the first donut machine in 1920.

Also, did you know there are two correct ways to spell doughnut and donut?

Ok, so enough of this boring, pointless and COMPLETELY RANDOM post. I guess I am bitter.. this free donut stuff doesn't really go with my 30 day shred!

Do you want to see the "after"? "Need" new Flip Flops?

Our new landscaping is now in and daily watering has begun. I have posted pictures below... you may have to squint, yes the plants are very small (we were on a SMALL budget). They tell us they will grow fast, but I am pretty sure they will not grow as fast as I want. Hopefully we won't kill them. Good news though, it cost less than they quoted us. Thank you Barefoot & Assoc. Landscaping!
Now for something totally random.. I got these in the mail today. I LOVE THEM!

I saw them on the E! channel. They were doing a special for cheap summer fashion. I had a rough week last week and Justin (my sweet husband) gave me some money to go shopping with. When I saw these on TV, I immediately went online and ordered them. They are even cuter in person and on my feet. So I thought I would share. They are are 100% vegan and 100% recyclable footwear so lightweight and airy, they'll feel better than bare feet on a warm summer day. So if you are looking for a cute, cheap pair of sandals.. I totally recommend these -Footpetals Flexyfeet . They are only $22.95. I ordered them in black, but I want the silver and gold. Seriously cute!

Now for our new landscaping photos:

Do you love makeovers?

I love makeovers. Specifically the ones that show the before and afters. It could be anything... if they show me the before picture.. I am hooked to stay and wait for the "after". This week in our home we are having a lot of before and afters. I am starting the Jullian Michael's 30 Day Shred. (Don't worry, I won't scare you with a before picture.) Our home is getting new landscaping tomorrow and today, Toby got a serious makeover. I know that he is completely neglected and was in desperate need of a hair cut. He doesn't even look like the same dog...

Here some pics of Toby's before and after.

Here are some pictures of our yard and Justin working so hard. We saved money by taking out the plants ourselves. He said it wasn't that bad, but it was ALOT of work. These plant here were HUGE. We had a friend bring his truck over to pull these out.

Kate was out there helping her daddy.

Stay tuned... I will show after pictures. I just hope it looks different, I have this fear that we are going to hate it or that it won't really look any different. We will see.

Do you accept my apology?

Dear Bloggy World,

These past few days have not gone as planned, I was sick on Thursday and Friday and did not post my Freebie Friday giveaway as planned. Next Friday my giveaway will be back on as planned. (I know I have said "planned" too much, but is late and I am tired). Also, the winners of Monday's giveaway will be both entries (since there were only two). I'll contact you to get your address and send you each a book. Congratulations!

I'll give you a weekend update on Monday. Until then, have a great Sunday and Memorial Day.

What in the world was I thinking?

We continued our quest today to find Kate a Mother's Morning Out program or something similar. I contacted a church near us who has a pre-school program and they start at one. I knew it was right up my alley when she said that the one year old class doesn't really have a curriculum and that they are there more to play and for socialization. She also said that it was only $12.50 / day. Ding, Ding, Ding.. we have a winner. I spoke with several people and they also said that the teachers are very sweet at that school (very important). At her age, I am not really looking for her to learn Spanish. I just want to give her something to do one day a week, instead of being stuck with me everyday.

Now, off to the best part of the story... This school and church has a little indoor playground area. It is open daily to the public, so I asked the director if I could bring Kate into play. All I really wanted her to do was to crawl / walk around (Kate had other ideas).

There were two other little girls in there (probably around 3-4 years old). The structure looked something like this (with only one slide):

Kate was watching the other girls climb up it and of course wanted to climb up also. There was a little step you had to climb up in order to get inside. She could not quite get her leg up on it.. so I thought... I'll help put her up there. She will only crawl around at the opening... BAD IDEA. There goes my baby crawling up the steps, right up to the top of this structure, like she was a champ. What do I do? Of course, I had to climb up after her. I didn't want her to get stuck, or come tumbling down the slide.

So there I go... feeling like this:

(Please note this is NOT me.. just a wonderful picture of how I was feeling climbing up that thing). Oh, did I mention that the there were two moms watching me whole time and one of them was our neighbor.. yes.

At the top of the structure there was this little steering wheel. When I reached the top, of course Kate went right to the wheel. Did I mention that the other little girl was playing with the wheel? Well, that little girl was not about to share that wheel with Kate. And Kate was not about to let that little girl not share. I kid you not, my baby went right up to the little girl and tried to push her hand over so she could also steer. Oh, she was also staring the girl down.. I could only imagine what she was thinking.. you better let go or else. {BTW.. during all this, I was getting very hot and claustrophobic.. I placed my face right up to the opening to make sure I was getting air.} So, I tried to talk the little girl into letting Kate steer just once, but she really did not want to share with Kate. I will have to say.. I was pretty proud of Kate for not backing down, but I knew it was TIME TO GO.

So the next question.. How do I get down? Kate did not want to leave, but I grabbed her and headed down the slide. Yes, the two mothers were at the bottom to greet us.

No, I will NEVER do that again. Seriously, WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS I THINKING?

Speaking Five Languages & Mandarin Chinese by Age Five... Seriously?

As you all know, Kate turned one. A great church near us has a wonderful mother's morning out program. I called them a couple months ago to get information and they accept kids at age one. I was planning on contacting them in the next few weeks to see if I could bring her one morning a week... I just found out they are closing their program.

Since I had it in my mind to take her somewhere one morning a week, I decided to look into what other toddler programs were available in our area. A new preschool called The Goddard School has just been built and it is right across the street from our neighborhood. I read a flyer they mailed us and I decided to stop by the other day.

The Education Director gave me a tour and proceeded to tell me that all their curriculum is written by a professor at Yale, all their teachers have four year degrees and they focus on language development along with social skills, yoga, etc. Kate's teacher would teach her sign language. (We have already taught her some signs, so I thought... yes, we are such great parents, she will already be advanced in her class.) Then the director proceeded to tell me that at age two they starting teaching them Spanish. At age three they add in French, at age four they add German and Italian and by age five she will be speaking those five languages along with Mandarin Chinese.

To be honest, I chuckled to myself a little when she told me how much Kate would love her yoga class, but then when she told me she would be speaking all those languages including Mandarin Chinese.. by age five. I was like.. are you serious?

Well, needless to say, I really want to send her to that school now... especially after I had to google "Mandarin Chinese" to find out how to spell it.

Of course, as always, reality sets in... two half days cost almost as much as my friend pays to send her kids to private school. Sorry Kate, you will be stuck with me for a while, but maybe Handy Manny will teach you a little Spanish. (Yes, I know it is not Mandarin Chinese.. but come on!)

What if I wiggle my nose and wave my wand?

Do you have those days, weeks, months where you don't feel like doing anything? I had to laugh at an e-mail I got from a friend of mine. She has a little boy who is about 6 weeks younger than Kate. Her e-mail said something like..you have it sooo together, what is your daily schedule? I am glad she lives in FL and I live in NC. If she lived even remotely close to me, she would realize what a mess I am. As most of you know, life with a baby who get into everything is filled with non-stop picking up. {I know it only gets worse}

Since Lea always says that cleanliness is next to godliness. I do strive to have a clean house.

After all our house guests left and Kate's party was over, I crashed and burned. I am so embarrassed to say that I just finished taking down her party decorations today. I have the laundry done, but it is piled up. {for some reason I hate putting it away}

I keep asking Justin.. if I wiggle my nose and wave Kate's wand, do you think I will wake up and the house will be spotless? {If only it worked like that}

Dear Fly Lady, I am so sorry. I have left your ways, but don't worry, I am coming back to them.

Can you wave your wand and make my house spotless (just this once)?

Hey, it may work... she is the "cleaning fairy".

PS... You have to read this story.. Can you imagine receiving this Mother's Day gift from your three SINGLE daughters? Read Meghan's Story..

Want a sneak peak?

Kelly @ Fabulous K has been working on redesigning my blog. She sent me this proof last night of my header. Isn't it so cute? I am hoping the new design will be up in a couple days. I can't wait! {THANK YOU JUSTIN! - this totally counts as one of my mother's day gifts.

"Minivan Moms" Do You Need a Pep Talk? American Idol Fans- Do you need a Good Laugh?

As if me, getting a minivan wasn't punishment enough, my friends are calling me (in shock), e-mailing me, texting me, posting messages on Facebook etc. Our "coolness" factor with the kids in Justin's youth group.. has dropped drastically (and I am talking as if we even had a "cool" factor with them... who knows.) They have not stopped making fun of us. We picked two of them up for church last night in our new minivan and one of them said that he was glad the windows were tinted, so no one could see him... I was like grrrrrreat. I hope he wasn't too traumatized. After all this... I seriously need a pep-talk.

My friend Meghan sent me this video when she found out I got a minivan... A very much needed "Pep Talk" ... it seriously made me smile.
{Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Freebie Friday... giveaway of a monogrammed car mat set valued at $75.} (Also, if you are an American Idol fan, you have to scroll down to the end of this post and read the Facebook postings that people left in response to my friend's comment... it is not at all politically correct, but very funny).

My friend Jamey is such a nice guy, great personality, cute and has one arm. He is so funny!
He posted this status update on Facebook Tuesday night after American Idol. My husband and I were laughing out loud when we read them. I guess he is happy about the outcome. Here is his comment and some of the funniest responses:

Jamey: I'm gonna go ahead and be the one to say that Scott has to go, he is only there because he is blind, sorry but I am allowed to say that because I have 1 arm, so it's OK. BUT HE HAS TO GO!!!

Carly: Jamey, I miss you and your one arm humor!!!!

Liliana: LOL...omg, u r so messed up...but so right...i've been saying that from the beginning...he really needs to go...he's a nice guy, but he's definitely not idol-material! lol...still laughing...haha

Nicole: I totally agree!!

Kristin: Me and both of my arms totally agree!!

Mike (who is paralyzed): um hm. gimp humor. oops, did i say gimp?

Amanda: Yeah he won't even see it coming...woops. too far? I can say that b/c I have Scoliosis.

Does everything in life come in Threes? The Good, Sad and Funny.

Have you heard in life... everything comes in threes? Well, this weekend I experienced that. Here is the breakdown of the Good, Sad and Funny. {and the winner of our first giveaway is posted at the end}.

The Good:
I got Kate's First birthday invitations in the mail. They are SO CUTE!! I ordered them from PaperStyle. (You can find tons of coupon codes on google for this sight). We are having a princess theme, so these invitations fit perfectly. I am so excited to send them out! Here is the proof of one I ordered (I cropped out our address, because I am a little paranoid about putting all our info on here). Click Here to see the entire invitation sample.

The Sad:

In one short note... my husband traded in our Lincoln Aviator for a Toyota Sienna minivan... yes, sad (I cried), but true. I am officially a minivan mom. A friend sent me a hilarious video it is called "Mom My Ride". So Funny!! Here it is:

The Funny:

My husband is a youth pastor at a church in NC and the music pastor asked him to play Pilate in the Easter musical.. and of course, Justin is so nice and can't say no. So he came home the other night in this outfit... it is funny and a little sexy.. well, no.. just funny!

Are you a day dreamer?

First things first... if you dream about winning stuff.. go to yesterday's post and enter to win my first giveaway {click here for the post}. You and your friends have until Monday morning to enter.

I day dream all the time. I dream of how I want my family to be when they are grown, the wife and mother I want to become (because it is a huge process for me.. and I have ways to go), places I want to go, things I want to do, business I can start, things I can invent...
YES, my husband frequently looks at me like I am CRAZY when I share some of my ideas with him. He always responds lovingly and tells me to go for it!! Some are crazy and would never happen, but we do dream together of the places we want to visit. There are so many on my list, but one place is the Atlantis in the Bahamas. My aunt, uncle and cousins are going.. and said that we should come too. We can't afford it right now... even if we crash in their room.. which would be way too full! We do hope to go there one day. Here are some pictures... it is beautiful!

Where do you dream of going?

Do you want something random?

This is something that was sent to me twice (to do) on Facebook, so I decided to post it here also.

25 Random Things about me.. in no particular order.

1. I always wanted all boys (4), but I am so glad the Lord gave me a little girl.

2. I can't believe my husband choose me.. I so don't deserve him!

3. I spend way too much time on Facebook. (obviously)

4. Ever since I was little, I always wanted to serve in ministry... I am so glad I am able to help my husband.. I love it!!

5. My uncle works for Louis Vuitton.. he is amazingly talented and over the creative and merchandising team (I think that is what he does.. sorry Bill if I got that wrong). Anyway, he (and my mom) hooked me up with a purse for my 30th birthday. It is the only purse I carry. Since I am a pastor's wife, people constantly ask if it is real.

6. I, like Ann Marie, love Broadway theater. I have no musical talent what so ever, but I always wished I could sing. The shows I have seen live (in NYC) are: Rent, The Producers (w/ Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane), Cabaret, Les Miserables, The Odd Couple (with Matthew B., Nathan L. and Brad Garret). In Raleigh I have seen, Cabaret, The Lion King, Mama Mia, Greece. My favorites are The Lion King and Mama Mia.. although I loved them all. btw... the movies don't do them justice.. just not the same.

7. The Broadway show I am dying to see is In the Heights.. If we have some extra money, I am hoping to go to NYC this spring or summer to visit my uncles and see the show.

8. I can be "High Maintenance" - but I really wish I wasn't.

9. My favorite color to wear is BLACK. It so takes 5 pounds off my figure. I wish I could find a color that would take about 20 pounds off.

10. I have some of the most amazing friends from -- when I was born (Kelly), when I was little (Somer and Heather), High School (Tina, Colleen, Julie) and College (Elizabeth, Jessica, Meghan,Ashley, Laine). I keep in touch with them (not very well). I miss them all so much!

11. Kelly and I used to dress up my cousin (Brad) in our dresses. I so wish we had pictures of it.

12. I love expensive, designer clothes.. and wish I didn't. I have a serious weakness for designer jeans. I think I got this from my mom... who still blesses me with designer clothes and shoes.

13. The most influential person in my life was my grandma (Eileen). She passed away last year and I miss her so much.

14. I hope my kids are as close as my dad is with his brothers and sister.

15. I am a dreamer. I have all these ideas in my head. Sometimes my husband thinks I am crazy, but I was studying the Proverbs 31 woman and she was an entrepreneur. Now I can tell him that I have one of her traits. (I need to work on alot of her other traits).

16. I graduated from Florida State University and love the SEMINOLES!!

17. I grew up in a family of HUGE sports fans. My grandpa, dad and uncles have had season tickets to the Buccaneer games since they started. They are die hard and made it through some rough seasons.

18. My favorite piece of clothing Kate has is her Uggs. My sister-in-law bought them for her and they are so cute!

19. The only famous people I kind of knew were they Boleas.. aka..Hogans. I worked for Linda (Hulk Hogan's now ex wife). I also babysat a couple times for them. Yes.. for Brooke and Nick.. it was a long time ago (in college). No, I have not kept in touch with them. She fired two of my friends, but she was really good to me.

20. Three women I want to be more like (all for different reasons and they are each from different seasons in my life). Angie Hunt, Lea Marshall and my sister-in-law (Beth).

21. I have a little malti-poo named Toby. I love him, but my husband does not.

22. I have a Master's degree - this will be shocking to some of my friends.

23. I am memorizing the book of Philippians.. inspired by my husband.

24. I wish the kids in our youth group really loved each other and treated everyone kindly.

25. I have become "that parent", who thinks her daughter is the cutest kid ever to live on this earth.

Do you want to know what I got for Christmas?

For all two of you who actually read my blog... I am sure you were waiting in suspense to hear what Justin got me for Christmas. I do want to preface these next few sentences, telling you that I really have an amazing husband no matter what type of gifts he gives me.

This Christmas Justin went with a theme. Was it a jewelry theme? Was it a pampering theme? No, it was an "As Seen on TV" theme this Christmas. The first gift I opened was a Ped-Egg. (I did want this). The second gift was "As seen on TV" miracle foot cream. (At this point, I was really getting the hint from Justin... that my feet need work.) The third gift I opened was Aqua Globes. I was like, seriously, Aqua Globes. Who buys those? That is when it really got funny to me. I think that was his way to help me keep my plants alive.. something I greatly struggle with. It all still makes me laugh, especially when I asked him what was going through his mind when he bought those for me. He told me that he almost put the Aqua Globes back because he had spent too much money on the Ped-Egg ($10) and Foot Cream ($10). But he decided to "splurge" and get them for me .

I will say that the "As Seen on TV" gifts are not the worst gifts I have ever been given. My boyfriend in High School wrote me a check.
Boys take note.. unless the check is for a $1,000 so she can go on a shopping spree, at least get her a gift card.

Justin also got a funny gift this Christmas. His mom got him these praying hands book ends. They are kind of creepy.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We really had great one and loved our first Christmas with our little girl.

If you want to post a comment, let me know what you got (unless it is nothing). I was telling a friend of mine about the Aqua Globes and I made the mistake of asking her what her husband got her. She told me that he got her nothing. He really got her nothing. I felt so bad... my Aqua Globe gift looked pretty good at that moment.

What was the worst gift you ever got?
